Scaling is where most Meta advertisers hit a wall. What worked at $5K/month breaks at $20K. ROAS craters as you increase spend. The algorithm seems to stop working.
We've scaled dozens of accounts from $10K to $100K+ monthly. Here's the framework that works.
Vertical Scaling: The 20% Rule#
Never increase budget more than 20% at once. Larger jumps reset learning. Increase 15-20%, wait 3-5 days, repeat if still profitable.
Horizontal Scaling#
Instead of only increasing budget on winners, launch new ad sets or campaigns. New creative concepts, new audience segments, new geos, new formats.
When to Pull Back#
- CPA rises above break-even for 5+ days
- Frequency exceeds 3-4 (audience exhaustion)
- CTR declining week-over-week
- Marginal ROAS drops below acceptable thresholds
"We scaled a DTC brand from $15K/month to $75K/month over 90 days using 15% weekly increases. Slow and steady beat aggressive scaling every time."
